How Does a Wire Stripping Machine Operate?

The machine removes the PVC insulation, rubber or plastic around an electrical wire, leaving the core aluminium or copper behind.

A stripper machine operates using a blade or knife to strip wire fed into its feeding port by an operator. Electric wire stripping machines contain a motor, which pulls the wire through. After stripping, the operator then pills the insulation off by hand, or it falls off itself depending on the wire condition, thickness and design of the cable wire stripping machine. Motorized wire stripping machines can either be single-blade or multi-feed by design. The single blade strip with one blade that is lowered and raised depending on the size of the wire to be stripped. Multi feed on the other hand contains self-adjusting spring tension systems that can handle wires of varying sizes. Industrial wire stripping machines are designed for heavy-duty and high-volume cable stripping. They are fast and remove cable insulations easily. On average, industrial wire strippers can process cables up to 4” in diameter.
