About products and suppliers

A wire fence is a fence that has posts with strained horizontal wires or other wirework. It is also known as barb wire and is common with farm fences. Wire fences come in different forms, with each having its unique use.

Types of Wire Fence

There are many types of wire fencing, each of which has its specialty areas. Some of the common types are welded wire fencing, woven wire fencing, barbed wire fencing, electric wire fencing, straining line wire fencing, chicken fencing, aluminum wire fencing, steel wire fencing, galvanized wire fencing, powder coated wire fencing, e-coated wire fencing, razor wire fencing, and vinyl coated wire fencing.

Welded wire fence has a grid-like pattern with horizontal and vertical wires welded at each intersection. It comes in different gauges and heights and is fit for different uses. Woven wire fencing is similar to welded wire fencing with its grid-like horizontal and vertical wires. However, what differentiates them is in woven wire fence, intersecting wires are wrapped around each other to great woven ties. This makes them stronger than welded wire fences. Barbed wire fence is a series of horizontal wires strung on wooden fence posts or t-posts. It is more common in traditional farms. Electric wire fences, also called smooth wire fences, consist of horizontal bands of smooth wire fixed to t-posts or wooden fence posts with special brackets. Straining line wire fencing is a type of barb wire fencing without the barbs. It includes long steel wire lengths that aren’t already formed into fencing.

Chicken wire fencing is also known as wire netting. It consists of hexagonal holes twisted and sealed together by a machine. Aluminum wire fencing is a type of chicken wire fence but made with aluminum. Steel wire fencing is similar to aluminum fencing but made of steel. Galvanized wire fencing consists of galvanized before and galvanized after. The galvanized before fencing involves a string of wires that are galvanized before they’re welded or weaved. This helps to protect the wire fence from rust. Galvanized after wire fence is when the wires are galvanized after they’re weaved or welded. This makes them durable and more resistant to damage. Powder-coated wire fencing is when the wires are dipped in powder coat to protect the fence from corrosion. E-coated wire fencing is when the wires are dipped into paint with electricity passed through it. This ensures the fence lasts longer. Razor wire fence is made of sharp metal blades that can slice through clothing and skin. A hog wire fence, also known as hog paneling, is a type of welded wire fence that consists of intersecting metal rods welded together and galvanized. Vinyl wire fencing is when wires are dipped in vinyl to make them smoother and softer to avoid scratching and snagging. The wire is likely galvanized before being dipped in vinyl and then painted. Vinyl wire fence is common in kids’ schools.

Advantages of Wire Fence

The first advantage of wire fence is it is easily installed compared to other types of fences. Wire fencing is also more affordable, visible, and durable, giving you good value for your money.
