About products and suppliers

A street solar light pole is a column designed to hold street light components like the lighting module, solar panel, electronic control device, and rechargeable battery storage module. The evolution of modern transportation has made it easier for street light poles to integrate with other modular systems like traffic management and city governance. These poles are generally fixed on sturdy reinforced concrete foundations like most street lights.

Types of Solar Street Light Poles

Street light solar poles are available in different materials and designs, depending on project applications and light types. They are, therefore, divided into categories when classifying them. Single-arm poles are installed on one side of a one-way or two-way road. On the other hand, double-arm poles can hold two lighting modules and are erected in the middle of a two-way road to offer symmetrical illumination for two flanks simultaneously. Split street light poles are another type of poles that separate the lighting module and solar panel. In contrast, unified poles have one integrated module that carries the battery, solar panel, and LED lighting.

Another classifying factor is the material. Light poles with solar panels can be made of various materials, with the majority being made of steel or aluminum. Steel poles and aluminum poles differ from each other in regards to the maximum height, corrosion resistance, stiffness, strength-to-weight ratio, and illumination requirements. The last category is the functional and decorative light poles. The primary role of functional street light solar posts is holding and fixing components on a solar street light, while the main function of decorative light poles is aesthetics.

Choosing Street Light Poles

While street lights are given much consideration during purchase, street solar lamp posts should also be considered equally. Solar streetlights can be installed in various locations like urban roads, highways, and the countryside, so the installation environment is an important consideration. Different places have different environmental conditions like soil composition, wind strength, humidity, and temperature and can pose distinct challenges to light poles’ chemical and physical properties. Buyers should also factor in the illumination requirements before purchasing a pole. The height of the pole, the distance between the street lamp solar posts, and the tilt angle of the arm can affect the overall illumination effect for the road underneath. It is a good idea to employ modern lighting design software to simulate the actual lighting effect of solar street lights at the site with parameters supplied by manufacturers.
