About products and suppliers

Although sturdy and durable, wooden and metal furniture tend to be a pain to move around. This is especially problematic for contexts that require agility and flexibility, such as outdoor restaurants and big event arenas. Fortunately, users can count on plastic chairs and tables to add more versatility to their businesses.

Stackable plastic chairs and tables

One of the greatest advantages of plastic furniture is its space efficiency. Stackable plastic chairs are a prime example of this, taking the concept to the next level. They are designed in a way that the legs can always fit neatly in the gap between the arm and backrests. The legs of the tables are also optimized for stacking, being slightly angled. With this, each table can slide easily on top of each other. This way, users can stack dozens of chairs in one pile, making the storage process much more straightforward. This is particularly useful in commercial settings, such as bars, restaurants, and outdoor events. Organizers can simply lay out the chairs and tables in a huge area without worrying as much about environmental or weather damage. When the usual business hours come to an end, the process of collecting each outdoor plastic table and chair set, wiping it clean, and storing it is streamlined and able to be accomplished by a few employees in a matter of minutes.

Foldable plastic chairs and tables

Although stackable tables and chairs can be very convenient, they aren’t really that sturdy. This is mostly because plastic tends to be the only material used on the whole furniture. Foldable plastic chairs and tables, on the other hand, usually have a metal frame to support them. This makes them great for camping, family gatherings, and large indoor events. That being said, the storage aspect will be a little bit more cumbersome with these chairs, as they generally aren’t stackable.

How much weight can plastic furniture support?

As with all good questions, the answer is: it depends. Although many chairs and tables might be listed as having a load capacity in the high hundreds of pounds, this usually refers to a static weight. The so-called “strict” load limit for plastic furniture is generally way lower. This is because the weight of a person is not as concentrated as that of a dumbbell or 1,000-pound metal block. In the same vein, the initial seating motion produces way more force than a person’s static weight. Different bodies might feel comfortable at different positions, meaning the support of the chair has to constantly deal with shifting loads. This can be problematic, structurally speaking. For this reason, it’s safe to say that the strict weight limit for most chairs is around 350 pounds or so for HDPE and PP chairs. This number might go up or down depending on the material.
