What is Isolator Switch?

An isolator switch, also known as a switch disconnector, is used to ensure a particular fraction of electrical circuit is not triggered and isolated from the supply mains, which is necessary for doing industrial or home repairs. As a rule, such disconnectors are applicable in a wide range of electrical devices from extractor fans to air conditioners and more.

Most Common Types of Isolator Switches and Their Usage

In all, there are single-pole isolators utilized with single-phase circuits and which are located in the live circuit leg.
