About products and suppliers

An excavator is a large machine used for digging and moving earth on construction sites. This machine has a large boom arm attached to a bucket. The excavator body is usually made with hardened steel but the pins on the bucket are made with chromium molybdenum steel alloy to boost corrosion resistance. While most mini excavators are manually controlled by an operator in a cabin, some new generation excavators for sale have remote control technology for use in hazardous sites.

What are the Types of Excavators?

Excavators and trench diggers are available in different types, sizes, and configurations to suit different construction and earth moving jobs. The crawler or general-purpose excavators is the most common type of excavator used to dig sites for building and road construction, lift heavy material, and demolish structures. Wheeled excavators use wheels instead of roller tracks. They are ideal for companies that rent out excavators. They can be driven easily from one site to another without being carried in a trailer. Earthmoving excavators also vary by the length of their swing. Trackhoe and short-swing excavators work well in confined or urban areas while long-reach excavators have an extended arm and boom suitable for deep trenching and underwater digging.

How Can You Maintain an Excavator?

You can increase the life expectancy of your used excavators through consistent maintenance. Inspect the excavator's parts, including the bucket, linkage, hydraulic cylinders, boom, engine, pumps, swing, and track rollers. Repair any fault or damage immediately to prevent costly repairs in the future. Clean off dirt and debris from the cab and excavator tracks at least once a day. Check the tension of the tracks in the undercarriage. Fill the machine's tank up to reduce the possibility of water coming into it due to rainfall or condensation.

How Do You Select the Right Excavator?

Determine the application or specific job you need to buy or rent a mini excavator for. Then determine the weight of material to move daily. Choose a mini excavator for sale for 0 to 7 tons, select a standard machine for 7 to 44 tons, and a large excavator for 45 to 80 tons). If you are purchasing a fairly used machine to start an excavator rental service, check the hour meter, and look for cracks, leaks, and loose bearings.
