About products and suppliers

Disposable plastic food containers are a great option for stashing leftovers, meal preps, takeout food, sharing at potlucks, packing lunches and food on the go. Plastic cupcake containers, plastic drink cups, plates and other single-use plastic containers are also a convenient and economical alternative to standard utensils when catering for birthday parties, weddings, business conferences and other occasions.

What Are the Benefits of Using Disposable Plastic Food Containers?

Convenience is the biggest perk of using disposable food containers not only for restaurants, coffee shops and catering industries but also for households. You don’t have to worry about washing disposable plates and plastic bowls for soup or putting them away. This saves water, energy and time. Further, some disposable food containers with lids can be reused for food storage.

Most one-time plastic containers with lids are usually sturdy and lightweight, avoiding unwanted spills and slimy messes without adding bulk. These containers also lower food contamination and the spread of foodborne illnesses in commercial kitchens as they are only used once.

Is It Okay to Reuse Disposable Plastic Containers?

It depends on the type of plastic. Numbers 1,3,6 and 7 should not be reused. It’s important to note that plastics #1 are recyclable but not reusable. Those labeled #2, #4 and #5 are the safest for repeated reuse. So you can use these disposable containers with lids for food storage until they start to show signs of wear and tear, such as discoloration, cracks, deformation and scratches.

Can Microwave Food in Take Out Plastic Containers?

Reheating food in disposable plastic containers is not recommended. Since these to-go plastics are specially designed for single use, they might contain harmful chemicals that could leach into the food. It’s best to transfer your takeout food to microwave-safe containers. You should also avoid putting these containers in the dishwasher. The heat can also cause the plastics to leak.
